"Is My Flight Full" - Post Covid Edition
For any Dibbers wanting to check on their flights this is the information that you need to use:-
Date Flight number Departure and arrival airports as it really helps the Dibb members who respond when checking how the flight looks - please don't assume we remember flight details even the regular ones. Happy to check any airlines/destinations and will post a reply even if it turns out that they don't appear on the systems used. Please feel free to ask on this thread Please also bear in mind that Tui/Thomson flights cannot be checked as they are charters and Low Cost Carriers(LCC's) as they operate on a different sales method. Terms you may see being used are:- Blocked means - The airline operating the route are holding the seats back - this can be for a number of reasons such as group travel, paid for seating, infant cot positions, allocation to a codeshare partner etc. It is up to them when they chose to release them and are often scattered all over the cabin(s). Wide open means - only a small proportion of seats already chosen. This does not reflect the number of tickets the airline can/are still willing to sell. OLCI means - online check in usually opening 24 hours before departure. Fare buckets - putting it simply each cabin is split into a number of different fares with different terms and conditions ranging from (in non Covid times) non-changeable/non refundable to fully flexible/fully refundable. They are referred to as fare buckets and they are all given a letter of alphabet to distinguish each one - usually the cheapest/lowest fares tend to go first especially for leisure travel. So the busier the flight the higher the fare buckets are left. There can be as many as 250+ fares for one flight - all with different rules. and the above explanation doesn't even cover things like advance purchase limitations and much much more. Any replies will reflect the date and time of the request and will be subject to change especially if the request for availability is months in advance/school holiday dates. Lower Deck First - 6 seats unoccupied with 2 blocked Club - Wide Open WT - Wide Open Upper Deck Club - Wide Open (but the small front cabin rows 50-53 on the side areas are mainly occupied - they are the most popular seats on the aircraft along with the huge loos up there) WTP - Wide Open WT - Wide Open BA still selling all fare buckets. BA 1604 - scheduled to be operated by an American Airlines Codeshare under flight number AA134 using a 777 aircraft First - 6 seats unoccupied Bus - Wide Open PE - 13 seats unoccupied EC - Wide Open At this stage BA selling most fare buckets. Let's be positive
VS 7 scheduled to be operated by an 787-900 aircraft UC - 5 seats unoccupied with 1 blocked PE - 1 seat unoccupied with 7 blocked EC - 48 seats unoccupied with 48 blocked Virgin selling NO UC/PE fares and the highest EC fares so a busy flight up front and there are 6 sets of seats in EC where aisle/window combo occupied leaving middle free (whoever is sitting there may find they don't get that free seat.) VS 24 scheduled to be operated by an A350-1000 aircraft UC - 14 seats unoccupied with 1 blocked PE - 11 seats unoccupied with 8 blocked EC - 53 seats unoccupied and front half of cabin blocked off for paid seating. Virgin selling mainly highest fares in UC and PE but a few limited lowest fare in EC. Same situation with aisle/window combos on this flight too with 7 sets showing |
