Colitis - DAS and AAP

I have colitis and feeling trapped in a big queue brings on acute anxiety which just makes it all so much worse. Whilst I had colitis on my last visit it was completely under control sadly that is not now the case, Should I take a Doctors letter confirming I have colitis. As we are going to Easter I am really scared I will only end up on the whatever FP+ I can get on at Disney as there is no way I can get into a queue more than 35-45 mins without getting very upset. The level of anxiety is something that I don't like my family to see so that will just the whole thing worse. I am, of course, happy to wait the same time as everyone else just not trapped.

I've used DAS when my Crohn's Disease was bad. They don't ask you for proof of illness. I don't think they're allowed to ask. Just explain the toilet urgency and anxiety/fatigue etc at guest services before you enter the park.

It wasn't too busy in early May so I only used it a few times throughout the holiday. It was good to know I had the option if I was having a bad day.

Thank you. That is good to know. I am fairly stable at the moment but anxiety makes it so much worse.

They won't ask for proof of illness but be clear about what having the DAS will mean for you- i.e. not being trapped in a queue. It's such a quick process, don't worry about trying to prove to them you aren't lying. I would also recommend getting it on your first day and just using it when you need it!

I too have Crohn’s disease. I always had a DAS pass under the old system and will be requesting one in May as well. Mine is reasonably under control, however stress such as travelling new foods change of water etc can bring on an episode and it urgency of the highest order.

have a great time
