Mobility Scooter Hire

Hi

We fly out from the UK with BA, mid June for 3 weeks and we will be staying offsite in Kissimme. We intend on doing all the parks and other things. My father in law is waiting on a hip replacement operation and is now finding it difficult to walk around and by the time we get there he won't have had the op.

I have a few questions I am hoping someone can answer, bearing in mind he is 17 stone so we would need something robust enough to wheel him around but that also easily fits in to the boot of a standard sized car:

  • Are there companies in the UK that let you hire a mobility scooter to take abroad
  • If so do you think that would be more or less expensive than hiring from somewhere in Orlando
  • If it is cheaper to hire in Orlando does anyone recommend anywhere that I can look at
  • If it is cheaper to hire here - does BA charge you to take a mobility scooter onboard and again does anyone recommend anywhere that I can look at
  • Would it be cheaper buying one here rather than hiring at all

Thanks so much!
