Help needed to find info on here as soon as please.

A while ago someone posted advice about what to use when pointing a patio. DH now wants to go and buy a sand and cement mix but I want him to hold off until I hear what it was. He has just said his way is the lazy way but there again he is 78 years old so I can forgive him. I couldn’t do it at all as I cannot kneel. LOL.

Can someone either tell me what the substance is or point me to the thread please?

Jan. I'm a hands and knees person, like your Husband mix my own and then spend ages with a damp sponge wiping excess off the slabs.

However this type of gear is so much easier, comes in various colours and is so easy to use. Worth a shot..

Screwfix, Wickes, B & Q etc all sell similar gear

Edit. The stuff I mentioned has been discontinued but it shows you the new stuff.

Edit No 2. Now the Grandchildren have gone I'm off outside in a minute to finish the patio cleaning. Found an awesome product that's quite cheap and it comes up like new. Contains bleach though so no good around grass.

We have Indian Sandstone patios, and the only thing that brings them up like new is neat bleach, we stocked up from the Pound stores. We had black spot mould on some slabs, they all went. It must be poured on neat, any slight dilution didn't work. Grass at the edges was fine too.

Olga. I have Egyptian sandstone. Same thing though. I got this from Amazon.

Did you leave it on or eventually wash it off? I have purchased every patio cleaner going and never managed to get those black spots.

I had the Wickes version but couldn't recommend it as most of it comes out of the grooves in lumps every time I sweep the patio. It set hard but didn't seem to bond to the slabs.

Have you tried Wet and Forget?

It really is amazing stuff - worth a go if you haven’t already tried it.

Did you damp down the edges first?
