Atlanta connection with wheelchair assistance

Hi, looking to book flights for Oct/Nov with VA indirect via Atlanta. Connection times both ways are 2 hours. Anyone done this connection with assistance?

My mum normally uses a walker through the airport but they’re always rubbish bringing it to the door on arrival (it does look a bit like a pushchair folded up!) She is considering asking for full wheelchair assistance and checking the walker into the hold at MAN which we’re hoping would save us time in ATL

Yes we have as ds is in a wheelchair! You do end up being last off the plane and can sometimes wait for them to bring his chair up to the plane but it was fine and we had plenty time and managed to eat as well! Love Atlanta airport! I would say it’s our favourite airport if going indirect its very well organised! X

Oh that’s reassuring thank you! The exact reason we’re asking for full assistance this time is hopefully they’ll have one of their own chairs ready to go rather than the wait we normally have for her walker. Did anyone escort you through the airport? I’m hoping the ‘last off the plane’ wait will be made up for by using the assistance lines and having someone know where we’re going 😊
