Hi, we rented ours out on the Dibb, after a help from the forum and this thread. We found the process very easy. Probably took a bit longer than Daves (2-3 weeks to rent all 300+ points) and a bit more work. We were glad we did it though.

I have looked at a few ‘available to rent’ threads on here and you are not wrong. The responses were mainly people wanting one night. I toyed with doing a whole stay this way, but the one nighters chipped into the available balance making it not possible. If I were DVC member I would have a minimum stay.

That's what I've done on the rare occasions I've rented my points, it's really not difficult and has always worked well for me.
I don't have the time or patience to deal with numerous 1 night stays, if I'm renting 200 points, I want a maximum of 2 bookings. I do think it helps if you're renting points from a home resort that's difficult to get at 7 months though, certainly anyone I've rented to has been keen to get that home resort advantage.

I’ve been both a rentor and a rentee a few times. I have a contract I email to the person. They email it back and then I make the booking and ask for payment by PayPal on receipt of booking confirmation.
The owner has very little risk. If you don’t get paid you can cancel the booking. If you ask for payment up front and specify no cancellation then you are in control. For the customer there is the risk that you can cancel their booking. They need to have trust in you. They can log in and check the booking periodically so they are reassured all is well. |

Hi tinkerella123,
We noticed your post about hoping to pay your dues by PayPal one day, well we recently found an indirect way to do that. You first need to buy a Disney egift card from Target using your US dollar PayPal account and you can then credit the gift card towards your dues. Please check out this thread... https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1122498 And Noodlez in post #8 also tested it out okay. Hope the helps you one day! |
