New to this Help
Hi Dibbers,
I'm considering renting DVC Villa for my Disney holiday October 2020. Completely new to all this so hope you lovely dibbers can help me out. I'm looking to rent a Studio at Beach club ideally for 14 nights, but would be open to just doing 10 or 11 nights then moving to a hotel at Universal. I've looked on David's DVC and worked out prices, but have a few questions. 1 Will I be likely to secure a full 14 nights? 2 I want to add dining package, would I need to do this and pay at the time I buy points, or could I add it at a later date? 3 Is it cheaper to do it via the dibb? 4 What are the potential pitfalls? |

Availability is very hard to get at any resort in that area because of food and wine festival so I’d say you’d be extremely lucky to get that length of stay if any.
Slightly cheaper to book through the dibb than on David’s but your chance of getting someone to rent that amount of points would be far smaller. As for dining plan, you’re not technically buying points, you’re renting an owners points and they’re booking for you so you’d sort it out with them |

You use to be able to add the dining plan to a DVC reservation up to 48-hours before check in but only the owner of the DVC contract can do that and it needs to be paid in full when adding it to the reservation and it's in dollars not sterling.
I did read somewhere that when paying by credit card it would have to be in the name of the person on the reservation, not the owner. So if that's still the case then you might not want to give the owner your CC details but there could be another option now as you might be able to use Disney $ gift cards which you can now purchase online from the UK. And if you were going to rent for Oct 2020 then suggest contacting either through David's or TheDibb at least 12-13 months before so to get a Beach Club member lined up to book at exactly 11-months out from check in, good luck and Happy Easter. Forgot to say, the biggest pitfall is the cancellation policy which is very different to booking a regular room. It could result in no changes and no refund if cancelling. Edited at 01:07 PM. |

I rented points my points out to a fellow dibber and was able to pay on my own cc when I added the dining plan to their reservation.
I agree you will be lucky to find someone on the Dibb with enough points available to rent for a 14 day stay. Much better chance with David's or similar

I agree with Mary and Br'er, you'd need to rent from a BCV owner to secure 14 nights during food & wine (sorry I'll be using all my 2020 points...) and I don't think there are too many of us here.
