Universal Annual Pass upgrades- Blackout question
We are in Universal in August and have 14 day 3 park tickets bought. Also thinking of a trip next may/June so considering upgrading to annual passes.
So if I have gone to Volcano bay while there in August can I still upgrade at the end of the trip to seasonal (cheapest) annual passes given the days we have been would have already been in VB would have been black out dates. Or do I have to upgrade to the premium passes? Hope that makes sence. Edited at 05:11 PM. |

I believe they just give a price credit towards the annual pass so in theory it should not be an issue, but some have had issues exchanging a 3 park ticket for a 2 park annual pass. Some kiosks say no , others yes, so if you get a no, try at another park.
Its worth noting that if you ever need to upgrade an annual pass to a higher level they just charge the difference in the passes, so if you suddenly decide to go during blackout dates they just charge the difference to upgrade. |

We are doing the same thing. Going in July with 14 day 3 park tickets and going to upgrade. We will visit Volcano Bay as many times as we like and then upgrade. My understanding is you can only upgrade to a 3 park one and the annual pass will expire a year after you first used the 14 day one. Hope that makes sense!

Not true. The official policy since last summer is that you can't downgrade 3 to 2 park. There are still some CMs who are going against this but they are rare.
