Rumours this Easter was quite quiet? Any truth to it?

As per title, there were some school friends and other family friends who went to Orlando parks over this Easter and said it was pretty quiet for normal Easter crowds.
Anyone else go and think the same?

I’ve nothing to compare it to, but as in my highs & lows, I didn’t feel any of the parks were ‘cramped’ (with exception of AK). After reading trip reports on here , I was a bit nervous of finding parks packed to the rafters, but it wasn’t the case for us I’m glad to say. Could be as we’ve had a late Easter break and American spring break was already over?

Easter weekend we found very busy... this was the Saturday in the parks.

Other than that the 2 weeks prior were fine.

As I’m going next week I was checking the touring plans queuing statistics and was surprised from afar at how small the lines were apart from the usual suspects. Most looked to be less than 40 minutes, FOP was about 120.

I do often wonder though if ride waits equates to footfall

I was thinking the same, looks as though US spring break was earlier. Wondering about Easter 2020 now!

We found the parks ridiculously busy from Saturday 13th onwards, we flew home on the 17th though so can only comment on the Saturday - Tuesday, no idea if it calmed down for actual Easter. The week before they were fine.

a couple of vloggers I watch commented on how quiet it was midweek, the week after spring break finished but before the Easter week crowds arrived - so that would have been w/c 8th April all week?

I always find it fascinating that people can have very different views on the crowd levels. It just goes to show how subjective these things are.

They do and they don't. Usually you would expect more crowds would equal more waits. But Disney has a tendency of adjusting staffing levels and running rides at different capacities depending on how busy they expect it to be. That means that sometimes the parks can have lower crowd levels but the wait times are higher (and vice versa).

Still, wait times are the only information we have. And, often, wait times are the main thing people are concerned about.

BTW, here are the wait time levels (not crowd levels) over the last month at MK. The other parks follow a similar trend as below:

From the above:
  • The end of March was busy (= higher waits) due to Spring Break.
  • It was relatively "quiet" at the beginning of April from around the 5th to 13th April.
  • The parks got busier the week before Easter, from 14th to 19th April.
  • Waits then dipped slightly and it looked a little quieter over the Easter weekend...
  • ...Except at AK which had a noticeable peak on Easter Saturday.

My brother got back on Monday and he said the first week was a bit quieter than the week leading up to Easter, which I’d expect. He was there 7th-21st.

We've just come back. The first week 6th-13th was quiet - in fact we were surprised how quiet. The second week was busier but still not as bad as I've seen it before.
