If I did experience the concerns you have mentioned I would be back at Reception within 10 mins flat and ask for a room change.

My view is I want what I pay for - nothing more and nothing less.

As an aside have you seen the pictures of renovated rooms in AKL yet? they are coming along well.

Trouble is you are damned if you do and damned if you dont. I suspect SSR like OKW will go for 'wooden' floors. Of course they wont be top quality wood but laminate. That marks badly if you aren't careful especially with suitcase wheels that may be damaged etc.

Be interesting to see those floors after 6 or 12 months.

I'm sure you will be fine with the location and room. If not be firm and ask for a swap.

We never take the luggage out of the car and up to the room until we have inspected it! Plus my Wife checks the view meets her requirements. I learnt the hard way not to cart everything up to the room only to cart it back down again as we head to Reception.
Haha, thanks for the tip! But what happens if arriving by DME? Do we just abandon our cases in the lobby and tell them that we're off to check the room to make sure it's to our satisfaction?

I know what my Wife would do in your situation. I would be left with the baby in the lobby and she would hotfoot it up to the Grandstand room to check it out.

Leave your Husband with the baby in the little TV area in the lobby where some cartoons play on a loop. He will be fine for 20 mins.

Not recently!

I suppose if my Son being the youngest was with us he may watch the cartoons with me. However he is 30 so he may not enjoy them.

This is where you will leave them

Looks good! I may even stay there myself and send the OH up there. I'm almost 40 but still love a cartoon

Someone over on the other board said they have just been told SSR refurb is starting April, in Congress Park.

If true that is good news, as I hadn’t thought it would start until back end of the year now. Indeed, Disney Tourist Blog had stated it was starting late 2019.

Maybe if you don’t mind Tom when you are back you can keep us updated if you see signs of construction ? Cheers.

I’m in Congress Park now but haven’t seen any construction. I’ll ask around when I get chance.

If you see any activity ask them if they want me to bring my tools. I will shift it on for them.
My deal is free accommodation for a year and I only do a 4 day week.
