Very useful thread,
Having been stung on the PCP with my last car (Dealer convinced me that at the end of the 3 years there would be enough value in the car for the deposit on the next, didn't tell me that the value would be so low that the monthly payment would almost double). I am very reluctant to go down that route again, but had been giving some thought to leasing.

My company car is up for renewal (with the option of a car allowance instead), and I have been giving a lot of thought between another company car, a private lease or a bank loan to buy a 1 year old car. My biggest worry with leasing is being stung for a huge bill for small things that I would consider wear and tare at the end of the lease. (the other problem is that I do 16k a year). Will now have a look at some of those leasing sites...

I would suggest, consider all options for your chosen car. Leasing is now often the way to go, but I have seen PCP deals sometimes beat leasing. In fact just got one myself, even if I hand the car back and walk away, it's substantially below the best lease deal I can get. That's the exception to the rule though.

probably a deal breaker a car with @50k on the clock wont be easy for the dealer to shift

i do @20k & havnt found a lease/pcp that fits my allowance/budget/milage

personally i buy a new (to me) car every 3 years and save the allowance over 3 years to do the same again
