Your best shopping tips
So shopping isn't the amazing bargains it used to be and a lot of products can now be got at home for similar prices but there are still bargains and unique products.
What are your best tips? Here's mine... 1 when using the outlets or Florida mall download the mypark app. First time is free and after that it's $3 for 2 hours. Well worth it to be park near the entrance and not drive round looking for a spot. 2. Just like at home prices vary from shop to shop so check before buying. For example nurofen is half the price in Walmart than in Walgreens. 3. Use sites such as retail me not to get coupons, just yesterday I got one for 20 percent off at bath and body works.

did you have any problems with the RMN code in store? Heard quite a few Americans say their local stores are getting really funny about accepting them and only taking email coupons I've only ever used RMN for online orders and my email for in store purchases

Don’t assume that the outlets are always cheaper than the department stores. Macy’s in particular has some great bargains & special offers plus they have a 10% discount scheme for overseas visitors which can be used in many of their departments (not make up or perfume, plus a few other exceptions).

Don’t forget that tax is added at the till. What you think is a good price when looking at the price tag might not be such a bargain once the 6.5% or 7% has been added.

Altomonte Springs Mall can be cheaper than the Malls closer to the tourist areas.
I have previously found Abercrombie has been cheaper, although this trip it seems to be at the same price.

If buying a lot in one store, buy one item in a first "test" transaction because quite often you will get a voucher for $x or x% off your next purchase. I've done this in Kohl's, Aeropostale, Old Navy, Gap, BBW, Hollister, to name a few.
Beware of the T's and C's though. Sometimes the voucher is valid for the next week or month. Occasionally some kind Dibbers will offer some up on here if they've brought some back with a long validity. We usually just leave ours in the villa for the cleaners! Edited at 10:39 PM. |
