East Midlands Airport?

Does anyone have any experience of flying from East Midlands? We are flying out with TUI on 12th May 2019 after booking quite last minute (for us anyway!). Never flown from there before. Is the TUI plane likely to be a Dreamliner? We have booked ELR seats for myself, DH and 2 year old so hoping it will all be fine.

Yes! It's really the only airport we fly from really! Yes it will be a Dreamliner.

We go on 5th May with TUI We went with them in October 2016 to Orlando and then with them again to Mexico in October 2017 both on Dreamliner's.

We find the whole process so straight forward, we've never got caught in a huge security or check in queue - it's not that much of a busy airport. Hopefully it will be a breeze for you all especially with having a little one!

I bet you can't wait!

There's very little to do at EMA so bear that in mind if you've got kids in tow.

East Midlands is our local airport. We flew on TUI to Orlando (yes, it will be on a Dreamliner) from there and it was fantastic. If only they flew there every day and all year round!

It’s a fairly small airport but it does get really busy. I would recommend looking at what other flights are going around the same time as yours. If there are lots, you might want to think about buying fast passes through security. You can buy then in advance on the airport’s website or on the day (subject to availability). We always buy them!

Head upstairs when you’re in the main terminal and you can sit and watch planes landing and taking off, if that’s your thing! There’s an Aspire lounge downstairs if you want to treat yourself, or there are a few places to eat, e.g. Burger King, Frankie & Bennys.

Enjoy your holiday. You may see us waving you off as we’re often down there watching the planes!

When would these Tui flights go on sale as there’s nothing for 2020 at all yet? I’d never thought of going from there it it would be so convenient for us

See you on the plane. We love flying from East Midlands, it is half an hour down the road from us. Unfortunately, no PE available, but we have booked our seats, although there was no ELR when I asked either! It's a really lovely flight on the Dreamliner. There's a Frankie and Benny's at the airport and also a Pork and Pickle for scrummy sausage cobs. I see you're off to AKL - we're there in October - have a fantastic time.

Same for us! It’s so handy having it down the road 😊 I think another benefit is flying into Sanford too, I’ve had some horrendous experiences at MCO.

We’re flying PE the week before you...can’t believe how fast it’s coming round!

I was under the impression in 2020 all long haul from tui will be relocated to Doncaster Airport. Not sure how true that is.
