February Half Term
Hi
I am looking for advice for booking DLP for February half term. It will be DD's 13th birthday and I was thinking of going for a girls trip (thanks @Goldia for your trip report and idea!) We are off to WDW August 2019 so it would need to be slightly budget and i don't think DS and DH will want to come with us! Plus it might be nice for us to go just the 2 of us... but I am not sure if it will be too cold or too expensive. We are first timers to DLP and looking for people's tips and also any ideas for when to book it - which deals are usually best for 1 adult and 1 13 year old. Just looked at flights and can get some with Easyjet for about £150 total including seats. Thanks for your help... slightly unsure as I have never done DLP! |

I did a trip with my DD in February, she was 12 and we stayed at the Santa Fe for 4 nights with the standard half board meal plan. The whole trip including spending money and Eurostar was about £1,400.
We were lucky to have exceptionally hot weather for February - but we've done February half term a few times and it can really range from freezing cold to very wet to pleasant. We always just check the weather before we go and pack accordingly. |

Did a trip to DLP in Feb half term a few years back.. we stayed offsite at the Dreamcastle. Unfortunately that year it was freezing and there was heavy snow for the duration of our stay! We've always flown rather than used the Eurostar, mainly because we live 'up north' so its a bit of a pain getting to London.
Newport Bay is our favourite onsite hotel, but also the most expensive (resemble's BC almost!) The Cheyenne is also a lovely hotel and well themed and better priced as a value resort. I beleive its recently had a refurb too. Easyjet to CDG is a quick flight, you'll need to sort a connection to DLP. You can get a direct train, we tend to use EZYShuttle but we are a big group so it work out more economical.

I have done several trips with DD in February half term. I think the cheapest was a little under £1000 for 5 days staying at the Cheyenne with the cheapest meal plan but that was a few years ago now. We travel via Eurostar as that is easier for us. With regards to the weather, I have been 5 or 6 times in February half term and it has ALWAYS been cold, bordering on freezing! However,if you dress in layers the cold is bearable, as is the snow!

Look at May half term also. This year it clashes with Ascension Day which is a public holiday so it will be busy, but most years people seem to find it OK.
We did Feb half term in 2011 with our friends and their 4 children. Booked on an under-12s free offer so only cost us for 4 adults. It was cold and wet but DLP is set up for that. Lots of shelter and yummy hot chocolate. I hate heat and would much rather freeze than boil! But our first WDW holiday was in Dec 2010 when it was minus 2 degrees and we wore winter coats most days!
