Can non-resort guests view HEA from Polynesian?

We are staying offsite. I was planning to grab a cocktail and watch HEA from the Polynesian beach one night - but I just read a review form a guy who got turned away by security because he wasn't a resort guest and didn't have an ADR. He was driving, which we wouldn't be, in case that makes a difference? I can't see how they would actually be able to tell who is a resort guest and who isn't, if arriving by monorail...?

Anyone shed any light on this?

They have got a lot stricter at the gate when you drive in. If you don't have an ADR then they won't let you in. If you're arriving by monorail or bus then you will be fine.

At peak periods they put CMs on the pathway to the beach to ensure only guests / ADR holders use it. It’s rare but happens on nights like NYE.
