Ooh thanks for the info guys. My contract is actually due for renewal in August, so it’s worth knowing. They charge me £5 per day in the US, and trust me I have been charged it.
Apparently I can apply to have my phone unlocked at anytime, though I still would be in contract. If I did this, and used a 3 SIM whilst away, would the phone then lock to the 3 network

You would have a different number on the Three SIM card. Your current number stays with the SIM card you removed. So while on the Three SIM you would not receive calls on the other number.
Put the original SIM back in and the original number is used by the phone again. The phone once unlocked, which is from a provider network, not the SIM card stays unlocked to any provider. |
