Athens trip
After a few recommendations for our August trip to Athens and the nearby coastline of Vouliagmeni. Places to visit, restaurants to eat at etc.. any advice welcome. 😁

I’ve done a trip report on our city break to Athens - there’s a link in my signature - one of my favourite cities, we absolutely loved it.
Would recommend the following - athenswalkingtours.gr/athens-type/food-wine We did the Athens food tour with these people, so good but if you do it don’t eat breakfast. We where stuffed and ate so much amazing food and some great drinks we were full for the rest of the day. Restaurants this was brilliant - m.facebook/LiondiAthens/ It’s near a strip of restaurants close to the acropolis where staff try to entice you in, don’t let it put you off this place. We ate here 3 times it was so good and by the end of our trip were like family. Such friendly staff who looked after us so well. But the acropolis pass to see all the sights, the panathenaic stadium is extra but worth it to run on the track and see the history. If you also get chance head out to Cape Sounion to the Temple of Poseidon to watch the sunset, just stunning. We did this through Viator on a small group tour at approx £35 per person which was really easy. Can’t advise on the other bit of your trip but ask me any questions about Athens you may have. I’d return in a shot but a few other places to tick off the bucket list first. One other point we booked a private taxi from the airport, really easy and saved using the metro to get in. Enjoy it, such an amazing place. Edited at 07:58 PM. |
