Excited about Disney

August 2020
We are(were) planning to return to Disney in 2020 and as its nearly time for the Free Dining offer I've started looking at prices... WOW is all I can say, it seems to have rocketed since we went in 2017!
I know the GBP - USD isn't that good, but it wasn't that good in 2017 either and hasn't changed that much. We are 2A 1C(13 at time of travel) In 2017 we stayed in POR Riverside for 11 nights and RPR for 3 nights; from my old info we paid £6,799 which included direct flights(E out, PE back), tickets for Disney & Universal with free dining (upgraded to DDP) flew out on 13/8/17 I'm getting pricing for 2020 and it's circa £9000 for 14 nights at POR or nearly £10k with Virgin Holidays (usually my benchmark) + another $350 to park the car for 2 weeks Has it really got up that much? - I was expecting it to be £7.5k - £8k considering I was just planning on doing only Disney, so no Universal tickets, etc to purchase I can't see us continuing to go to Florida in the Disney bubble if it's going to be £10k+ for two weeks in the future. What is everyone else seeing?

I would not even try gauging prices till Thursday, many of the cheaper room categories are not showing on the Disney website at the moment, as it prepares for the launch. Whilst TA's are taking advance reservations, they cannot confirm until after 25th when the offer goes live. Once we get to 25th then and only then will the actual prices be available. I gave up trying to get an idea, as Beach Club and Yacht Club have disappeared from the site amongst a lot of others. Before they vanished for my dates in Sept prices for the same Room as I am in this Sept have gone up by £65 (I am a solo traveller btw) and £30 of that is the ticket price increase (£399 last year to £429 next). However as I said they are no longer on the website and only higher price room categories on a lot of other resorts. I am just waiting till Thursday and all will become clear
Edit (my booking is 7 nights doesnt include flights as I always book my own, never find packages cheaper for me as a solo traveller.

We are seeing very high prices as well, we are looking at August 2020 as well and we thought maybe £4 to £4.5 all up but it’s turning to be £5k and not getting what we wanted. That’s only for 2 adults going, I feel for people with kids as well.

I agree. Prices are a lot higher than when we went in Oct 2014 (AKL £6,600 through VH) and August 2016 (Beach Club £7500 through travel city direct). Both were for 2A, 2C for two weeks, direct flights, tickets and (free) DDP. I can’t get us anywhere close to those prices 😭😭😭

I think the offer kicks in later this week - try pricing it at the weekend.

I’ve gone through ATD for hotel, tickets and dining plan. 3700 for 14 nights at Coronado Springs for 1 adult, 1 teen. Flights were 899 for both with TC direct from Man 21/08-04/09 so 4,600 in total.

We last went in 2016. When I looked a couple of weeks ago for 2020 the prices were more expensive but no more than I was expecting. The price to stay at a moderate hotel had increased by about £1000 or so. From around £1800 to around £2800 for 2 weeks at the cheapest moderate.
And back in 2015 when I booked out 2016 holiday the dollar rate was much better than it is now. So some of that increase of the last 4 years is due to that. Make sure that the current price is for the same room category as you booked before.

Same boat here, we are looking at around £6.5k for 14 nights in CBR and 4 nights in Royal Pacific, including tickets and QSDP but excluding flights.
I think what a lot of people are going to do is book the tickets and hotels tomorrow and then wait until the flights get released in September. Even then I'm guessing that we will be looking at £600+ direct from Manchester. Looks like I'm going to have to do more overtime 😔 |
