Hi
I’ve already done skip the counter but was wondering if we need to take the paper part of driving licence with us. We have the photo licence, is that enough?

Thanks 😊

Hi. The paper part of your driving licence is just scrap paper now and has no vailidity.
It should either be shredded, or like I have done just put away as a momento.

The only ones still valid are those which are held by drivers who never applied for the plastic licence. The sting in the tail for them is they must carry their Passports at all times whilst driving whereas we don't have to.

Absolutely correct I shall be sorry to give up my paper licence in about three months when reaching the ripe old age of 70. At least I get a free replacement plastic one!

Correct advice , if from NI you need to keep your paperboard as they did not adopt this part of law with rest of UK.

In lieu of the paper part, do we have to supply the DVLA code to a US car hire company?
