I'm afraid not as I can't remember who we used - they were terrible though - took us to the wrong hotel !

But, I'm watching with interest as my Mum is looking to go in Spring and I said I'd help her organise a bit as I seem to be the organiser in the family .

Hope you get sorted out. New York is amazing! Mum was trying to persuade me and the kids to join her and Dad and I was sooo tempted but we have 2 other holidays booked this year so I have to be sensible and sit it out . Life's just not fair (joke!).

I've used carmellimo a few times. They have been great. You just give them a call at baggage claim and they appear in a couple of minutes and text you with the details of car that's picking you up

I know you want to book, but, we walked straight out the terminal and across the street to a line of waiting taxis. It is a set fee, $52 plus toll and tip. We paid $70 for the trip. So easy. There was a big line waiting for a transfer company in the terminal. Also they have larger taxis for the same price, we were fine on the way there, on the way home we had 2 extra cases so had a people carrier type vehicle.

Sorry to hijack OP, and sorry to sound dumb, but how do you know what to tip the driver? Should I just have $70 ready to hand over? Sorry I'm a complete NYC novice!

Also how do you get a taxi back to JFK that isn't going to rip us off? Is thee somewhere in particular to go to get one?

Thank you

We just had $70 dollars ready, I think it should have been about $67, so we just did $70.
All the yellow taxis have the airport price on the door, we had our doorman at our hotel hail one for us. The first one was a normal size, he looked at our cases and decided it would be a squeeze, so he hailed a larger one, the price was the same. We tipped the doorman a couple of dollars for doing this.
Any questions please ask, we went 3 months ago, it's the most amazing city.

That is a great help! Thank you so much! I'm sure I can think of a whole heap of questions to ask! I'm a complete newbie!

Funny thing is we off to Virginia for 3 weeks in August and we've no idea about that either! Hahahaha!
