Disneyland Paris at New Year

Hi

We went to Disneyland Paris 10 years ago when our daughters were 5 and 2. The youngest doesn't remember it.

We have since been lucky enough to go to Florida 5 times and California once.

We were thinking of going to DLP over New Year this year.

Just wanted to know what it is like then - what time are the parks open until and do they have fireworks (especially on NYE).

Thanks for your help.

We went last year 26-30 December staying at sequoia lodge and had a great time, they were setting up the fireworks on the lake ready for NYE so have decided to go back and stay New Year's Eve this time.

Going 28 Dec to 1 Jan this time to experience the fireworks and will watch from around the lake. I believe the parks are open but not sure on how busy they will be.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

I spent 31st December in Disneyland Park a few years back, it was horrifically crowded I have to say. Things may have changed over the years, but it took us a long time to get out, people were all over the grass areas and climbing fences, crazy stuff!

I shall be there too, am thinking of giving the parks a miss and hanging out around lake Disney, depends on the weather. I am staying offsite at the Explorers, no way was i going to pay Disney's prices for that weekend!

We did it for a few years when we had our dream passes, it was crowded and very cold the first time, brilliant fireworks though, the second time we did it I was ill so we decided to head back to our apartment early and watched the fireworks from our balcony. Loved it that way away away from the crowd and straight back inside in to the warmth, but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

We did 29-2 two years ago. It is a lovely experience but I won't do it again. I am okay with the cold weather but it was freezing! We didn't stay in the parks for the countdown but they did a mini celebration with fireworks at the lake near sequoia. We enjoyed the experience but it was very crowded at times. No worse than Flordia in summer or Christmas though. But the cold made me grumpier and more irritable than I thought I was going to be!

Thanks everyone for your replies.

What time are the parks open between 29th December and 1st January?

I know the crowds are going to be busy, but what are the wait times like? Do they do fast passes?

Any recommendations?

Park is open till after the fireworks new year so i am guessing 00.30 or around that. I can't remember if the studios stayed open later to be honest. It was however rammed though. Do be aware it will be a very long day so plan for it.

As for hotels that depends on your budget. We stayed at Hotel New York last time. I loved it. had a lakeside room on the 7th floor i think it was.

Had a fab view

The children liked it but they weren't keen on the theming of the hotel. So we are back to Sequoia Lodge which up until our last trip was our regular hotel. It's a fab hotel, very family friendly and that log fire with a pint in your hand at night you just can't beat :-)

This year we were going to go new years but as we have found out the star wars season is happening the kids now want to do that so it's the feb half term for us.
