State pension observation.

A bit tongue in cheek but...
I was one of the youngest in my school year, if I had been born 3 weeks later, I would have been in the year below the one I was in.
I left school and started work straight away and am due to get my state pension when I’m 66 in August ‘25.
There has been a couple of threads on here recently about pensions and it got me thinking. Some people in the same year at school as me, who started work the same time as me, will receive their state pension 11 months earlier than me.
It doesn’t seem fair.

Last time I checked I can't get mine until July 2026 when I'll be almost 67.
I do have a letter though that states I can claim on my 66th birthday which is September 2025.

You'll have suffered all your life ... taking tests 11 months younger. A year less driving experience, so later to no claims bonus. Last person to buy a drink. Extra entrance points to uni...

I'm a summer bitthday

I get what you are saying... to an extent it does suck but...

I am sure there are some people in the same year as you at school who will never claim their state pension. Food for thought.

At least you never had to go to school on your birthday.

I was born in September 1952 and couldn't receive my pension till I was 62 and a half but my darling sister in law was born exactly one year before me and got her pension when she reached 60.
