Disney stars / Olivia / Taffy you haven’t filled me with confidence over the DVLA
I work at a car garage and our sales admin don’t have too much good to say about them
DDs friend from the Priory did keep getting rejected for a licence but did get one in the end, and I feel DD is further on her recovery then her friend was when given her licence

Thankfully I am fully ok with tax codes etc so when I ring them I will be fully confident to advise them of their incompetence, and discuss how on earth they have linked me with some random accountancy firm

Anyone else got any more stories to tell

I'm not an NHS lover after what they did to us. But at other times they come up trumps.

My Wife and I had to go to a hip replacement class a week ago to educate circa 25 people about what to do and what to expect. Awesome concept.

Why do they supply coffee? More to the point why have two Ladies dishing it out and spending 90 mins sat at the back and doing nothing? Total waste of money and resources.
In the Trust where I work that role would possibly be done by volunteers so those 2 ladies could have actually been serving the tea in their own time.

My DH had a letter inviting him to claim his state pension... it went to my daughters address (totally different from ours), we rang to check and couldn’t access his account because we hadn’t given the correct address (forgot we had temporarily lived somewhere else). Rang back remembering the temporary address and asked if he could claim his pension via phone ...answer ring back in 2 months...so could we change his address?...no we’re too busy to do that over the phone, and put the phone down... each time you call you need to set at least an hour to get through... eventually changed his address (even though had to tell a white lie that we had moved from DDs address) and claimed via gov.verify...
I’ve had lots of issues with tax codes as I have a small Nhs pension which I like to get tax free and a part time job... they find it hard to split the tax allowance and it’s going to get more complicated next year cos I get my state pension in January (February or whenever they eventually pay it)...
No issues with DVLC and only issue with NHS was when I went for my post op check only for them to think I was going for a pre op check... when I queried it I was told that people rarely turn up for their post op checks... and as it took precisely 2 minutes I can understand why...

I forgot about the tax credit mix up.

We’ve never claimed tax credits but for some reason they paid £500 in to DH account and he missed it but luckily his accountant noticed and informed the relevant department so DH could pay it back.
The following year it happened again so DH phoned them and they tried to blame him saying he should have informed them he wasn’t eligible for tax credits

I can totally sympathise with you ref the dvla! Ds applies for a provisional licence in January some medical and wheelchair user but nothing that should be much of a problem! Medical notes back and forth numerous times still no further forward how the hell does it take 10months plus to process a provisional license? When u ring it’s just being passed from one person to the next and not one that has a clue! So so frustrating! Still waiting 😏

NHS is utterly bloated and useless at so many levels its unreal.

I had some issues when i returned from Orlando in November, ended up with a bunch of doctors appointments and finally a lung specialist. Get some tests, some scans etc. Always send me a letter then a text confirming.

I get a letter asking me to see my specialist, a text confirming. I attend get diagnosed with some stuff, then onto a physio at another hospital attend there every month as asked. Only after the 3rd physio meeting with a young nurse do i actually find out how severe the damage to my lung is and realise how life changing this is going to be. She then realises that the specialist has missed out a huge part of the diagnosis!

I then get refereed to a ears nose and throat specialist, i get a letter and a text i attend and without pre knowing about it i have a camera thrown up my nose in each nostril then down my throat. Was a little shocked but rolled with it. They tell me i need another scan and will be contacted.

Nothing much happens for a couple of months then i get a letter saying ive missed two MRI scans and im being refereed back to my original specialist and my case with the ears nose throat specialist is closed. Please contact blah blah blah to arrange an appointment. Ive never received anything for an MRI in regard to this let alone twice.

Call up get an appointment with my specialist he will discuss, turns out theyve send my appointments regarding the mri to someone else and someone elses number so ive had a few months wasted and im back to seeing the same ears nose throat guy again for a camera and no doubt again will be told i need a mri!

The organisation is just terrible, and thats being polite. The nuses and doctors are fantastic but the organisation is so bloated and old its beyond repair.

HMRC! We employ 10 staff, all of a sudden 2 who've been here years get smacked with 50% tax (talking part time hours they only earn £160 a week! so its a huge pain) they contact the tax office to be told ive duplicated them and i need to sort it. Ive done no such thing. Takes weeks but gets sorted then for some reason HMRC dictates we pay them back more than theyve been taxed.

One member of staff is on a 0T tax code, HMRC has told her she should have a normal tax code, yet despite daily updates out payroll system shows HMRC having it as a 0T code. Thats been ongoing for 20 weeks!

Another organisation thats become bloated and useless. Cannot cross communicate, cannot deal with the modern world and live systems.

I blame the age of computers. When they arrived common sense and personal service went out the window.

I have used NHS lots and they are usually more than great. Waiting times though is a huge issue.

Earlier this year I went to GP and he suspected a heart issue and sent me to A&E who referred to a “Rapid Access Chest Clinic”. Maybe I have a different definition of “rapid” than NHS ... followed a few weeks of several a&e visits, an ambulance and an overnight hospital stay. Still no appointment.
After 4 weeks I get a letter giving me an appointment for a first meeting with a cardio nurse (not consultant yet) - this was 6 weeks out. So “rapid” was 10 weeks...
