There is a ticket process for Pearl Harbour (we found visiting here VERY impactful, upsetting but very respectfully and beautifully done). So do look into that, it would help you avoid an element of queuing I think. If you are interested in military history, I wonder if I could also suggest a visit to Punchbowl Crater. As well as the obvious reason to visit, the views are incredible.

Love the Punch Bowl crater idea ..Hubbys dad is Ex Marine so defo of interest and as strange as it it I love visiting Graveyards / Memorial sites

I’m so glad I mentioned it then, I nearly didn’t as it doesn’t get mentioned usually as a must do. We ended up there sort of by accident but were glad we made the trip for sure

We did a Hawaii cruise (NCL Pride of America) back on 2007. In each port we rented a Ford Mustang- the highlights were driving around the Volcanoes NP on Big Island and the Road to Hana on Maui. We also did a helicopter flight over the spectacular NaPali coast and Waimea Canyon on Kauai.

Kauai was the island we liked the most. So much, in fact, that DH and I agreed that we would be quite happy to live there, the only place outside of GB that we have said that about. We hired a car and drove around.

We were a group of ten friends and despite that and taking various card games, doing ship’s quizzes, we still felt that four days sailing there and four days sailing back was too much. It didn’t help that the weather wasn’t very warm until the day before we arrived and then cooled down the day after we left. I don’t think any of us fell in love with Ensenada.

Despite all that, I am so glad we went and we have the most lovely memories.
