Luxury hotels Yorkshire(ish)

I'm trying to book a night or two away in October for my Husband and I.

We live in York and don't want to spend too long traveling so looking for a nice hotel within a couple of hours driving (preferably within the hour) or it could be a couple of hours on the train.

We want somewhere quite luxurious, where we can have a nice meal (but my Husband doesn't like food that's too fancy).

I'm thinking about the Devonshire Arms in Bolton Abbey or the Black Swan in Helmsley but looking for any other options/ recommendations.

Seaham Hall Spa 😍 - Seaham. Sunderland is less than 2 hours from York on the train. Then a taxi to the hotel.
Low Wood Bay in Windermere.
Swan Hotel & Spa at Newby Bridge.

I’m just listing my favourite spa hotels 🙈

We live in Yarm just outside Middlesbrough. Our favourites are Rockliffe Hall ( quite close to Darlington) or Wynyard Hall ( former home of Lord Wynyard , and easy route from A1
Different varieties of rooms in both hotels, beautiful scenery, and fabulous spa’s, plus all within an hours drive for you.

Crab Manor near Thirsk is good fun. All themed rooms, some have hot tubs and lots of little treats in the room, Molton brown toiletries, a secret free beer tap to find and a great onsite restaurant - the Crab and Lobster.
