Best place to view a rocket launch?
There are 2 planned during our stay- one at 7am wed 17th and one 7pm sun 21st (this was our planned MK day). We think getting to a beach very early we could see the 7am and then spend day at Kennedy. Any parking lots /beaches recommendations would be greatly received.

The 'best' location depends on which launch pad they are using. 'Ideally' you want to be as close as possible with an unobstructed view of the rocket on the launch pad (though not always possible) but also depends on how much you want to pay. There are lots of free locations, but a bit further away.
The best guide I have seen, which gives a detailed explanation of the pros and cons for every launch and location, is: launchphotography/Del...h_Viewing.html You need to be flexible - dates are often changed, even up to 5 minutes before launch. Both those launches have been delayed already. |

The Spacepark in Tutsville is brill, don’t expect much it’s a car park that is about 6 miles from NASA.
But there is a volunteer there who playes the countdown and explains what happening, it’s a great view and atmosphere. Worth the trip, it’s free and 1 hour from Orlando. |
