22 years ago this Christmas, my nieces and nephew (and their Dad, my brother) gave me Eric the cat. They had asked me first so I was ready and waiting for him.

As you know, that gift lasted until 31 July this year, just a couple of months short of his 22nd birthday.

That bin was actually the last present I got from my Granny when I was 15. (Along with a musical cat ornament) She passed away in the February after that Christmas. The fluffy cover was orange and it had arms and legs! Wow, it’ll be 35 years this Christmas.

When I was 14 I received a dansette type record player I was over the moon. It was 2nd hand bought from my much older brother but I loved it. That year I also got a really cute radio which I used to carry around with me everywhere.
