Virgin options what did you do?

I've just posted this on the Virgin cancellations thread.

I've just gone on the re-booking link, despite them previously not displaying dates beyond 11 months - BUT - this time, it let me choose new flight dates beyond what's released (16/8 - 1/9 2022), and I could click the calendar forward a few months beyond that, too.

Let's see what happens!

My Oct 9th flights have been cancelled today, Ive asked for a refund simply becasue I have no clue when we will be able to go next

the EU261 regs (which UK carried over after brexit) do say you are entitled to rebooking on the same route within one year of the original flight- if THEY cancelled. So they should honour it really, but the reality is things can be very different

How have you done this? I've just gone to the Rebook my flights link and it's just a form to fill in. Do you mean on that form you could go forward to September?

Yes, clicked through the options on the top, and then when scrolling down I chose the dates I want next year.

When I've done this before, I couldn't choose dates beyond what's available for normal bookings on the Virgin site. This time, I could keep clicking the > arrow on the calendar to choose new dates to November, at least. I stopped at that point and went back to August to request my new dates.

I've just tried it. I wonder if it works as I need Sept 20th to Oct 8th but I'm too scared to try

After I submitted it literally just said "thanks for your enquiry" type thing, so if I hear back from them, I'll be sure to post here!

No, neither flight out yet. Return is on 1/9/22 so probably another month or so until they're out.
