Collect restaurant coupons and money off deals.
Sign up to restaurants and plan when you are going to visit them and use your birthday to get bogof. Was mine and wife's birthday every day for 2 weeks

Share meals that are big enough for 2 people anyway
Get a roast chicken from wallmart for dinner for a few dollars and use the leftovers to make sandwiches the following day
Get the free iced water at the parks and add a dash of fruit juice
If staying onsite buy a loaf of bread and toast it in the food halls and use the complimentary butter, jam
Buy the refillable mugs to get all your drinks.
Unless you require copious amounts of food it's very easy to achieve.
We did ~£1150 for 16 night for 3 adults and I thought that was very good going! We splashed out on a meal at the AK rain forest cafe and that was north of $100 and we waited so long for a table we might as well not bothered as we had the shows numerous times, even though we booked it was a very long wait.

Do you take any food with you as we take some snacks with us?

2x adults in September 2022 for 21 nights.

Accommodation via VRBO = £2200 (3 bed townhouse at Vista Cay Resort, may have people joining us for a bit which will reduce the cost).

Tickets = £1940 (Disney/Universal/Discovery Cove/Sea World/Busch Gardens)

Car Hire = £1400 (Standard SUV, hoping to rebook this once prices settle and return to what is considered normal of around £700-900).

Haven't booked flights yet, just waiting for our dates to come out soon.

Can't believe the amount of money people are spending but the amount spent does not always make the experience better.
We have paid £485 for 2x return flights in may with virgin, staying at old key west for £1200 for 14 nights.
If this was via a travel agent it would be best part of £8k alone
It's a case for us of getting the best bang per buck
Each to there own
Old key west for less than 100 a night lol please share the magic

Mike didn't say how long ago that was. But to give you an example, it was only a few years ago that you could rent points for around $12 each. OKW studio can be had for as low as 10 points a night depending on season. Factor in a better exchange rate as well (say 1.5) and that easily puts it at £80 per night.

Even at today's exchange rate and prices of $19 per point, that's only around £140/night. Compared to over £300 if you were to book at cash rates on the same dates.

Ahh, you are right. Just went back through the thread. Had in my head he was doing Universal only for 2022 (which is correct ticket wise, but staying at OKW) so thought the Disney was an older example.

But yes, looking back at the costings it's going through DVC. Good rate on those points.

Must be a (very very discounted) DVC points rental?

Just a cursory glance, but these are the 2 "cheap" weeks at the beginning of May.

Spoke to a lovely dibber on here that had to cancel this year's dvc with David rental and was given a credit note to use before August 2022. As she couldn't go we agreed a price for the credit. Deposit £120 and remainder at arrival.

I am sure there are lots of these credits that won't get used up and the people who have then would be more than happy to sell at a discounted rate rather than loose all the money
