2 Days in Disney

Hi All

I'm Flying to the US on Saturday, it's a last minute thing as I'm trying to leave Mexico after travelling through South America for a few months..

I can afford to do two days in Disney. I figure the Magic Kingdom, because it's the Magic Kingdom and I want to see Happily Ever After and ride Splash again before it changes, and Disney Studios for Star Wars.

I've never been to Orlando in the Summer months, always visiting in May or October. I'm travelling solo, so getting to parks for rope drop isn't an issue but what can I expect at the moment? Is it hard to grab a Star Wars land spot? Will the parks be rammed?

I was thinking about renting a car, I'm staying on I Drive, but it's pretty pricey on my own when you take parking into account. I think there's a bus that goes from Sand Lake to Disney Coronado and then another bus to Magic Kingdom? Although I guess this could be a massive pain? I think an Uber will cost about $20, but then that's each way. Maybe the car's the way to go. Can I park at Disney Springs and get the bus?

I usually spend months planning these trips! I arrive Saturday!

Still, any strange, unplanned, 2 day, busy, hot, stormy pandemic Disney visit is better than no Disney vist at all!

There's no buses direct from Disney Springs to the parks. You'd have to travel to a hotel and then get another bus from there. I would just Uber, it'll work out cheaper than car rental plus parking.

First thing you'll need to do is purchase park tickets and make reservations as you can't get into the parks without a reservation. At the moment, I can see availability but it usually fills up a few days in advance.

For the SW ride, you need to be logged into MDE just before 7am and on the RotR page. The boarding groups are done virtually via the app, and they are released at exactly 7am. As soon as the join button is enabled, click it and keep pressing join on each of the following screens.

But yes, the parks will be very busy.

As loldis says, first you need tickets, then you need to link those tickets to your Disney MDE account, then you need to make park reservations for your two days. Without a park reservation, you can't enter the parks.

At the moment, as long as you book the reservations 2 or 3 days or more beforehand you should be ok. There's no availability of the parks you mention for today and tomorrow, but Sunday onwards is fine. So don't leave it until on the day.

You don't need to grab any sort of spot to get into the Star Wars Land (Galaxy's Edge). You can enter the land whenever you want. You only need a boarding pass to ride the Rise of the Reistance ride. As loldis say, you'll need to log in to the app just before 7am and see if you can get a boarding pass. These are difficult to get.

The parks will be busy. It's the summer season which tends to be busy anyway. Plus last year people couldn't visit so it's probably a little busier than normal this summer.

I am unaware of any bus going from Sand Lake to Coronado (I assume you mean Disney's Coronado Springs resort?). No one has ever mentioned this before.

You can get a #50 Lynx bus from near Seaworld to the Transport and Ticket Center (TTC). From there you could get the monorail or ferry to Magic Kingdom. It's a bit of a pain and I'd suggest a Uber instead. Otherwise if you're hiring a car anyway then I suggest using the car and paying for parking.

You can get the Lynx bus number 8 to Seaworld from I Drive then a Lynx number 50 which takes you to Disney's TTC where you have access to all the Disney transport. When you board the first Lynx bus ask for a transfer ticket and the second bus is free.

Thanks all, but it turns out that (a) my hotel's shuttle is now running, and (b) I'm gonna rent a car, it's easier and not much more expensive than Uber as it turns out lol
