I love my Kindle Paperwhite. I can read in bed in the dark without lighting up the bedrooms with a ipad or similar so no disturbing DH.

Downside is that I cannot use the local library app. That only works on Android or Apple products.

I think it's only the Oasis that you can listen to audiobooks as well, via Bluetooth.

If you sign up to your local library you can download audio and ebooks for free and they are really up to date ones not ancient.

AFAIK you can't do that on a Kindle, which is the main reason I plumped for my Kobo

I would be exceedingly happy for someone to tell me this has changed though

I have an Amazon fire tablet, paid £39.99 for it and works brilliantly for both ebooks and audio books.

I didn’t replace my kindle when it died. Use my phone and my iPad

I was a very early adopter of the Kindle and went through the Kindle 2, Kindle 3, and the Kindle Paperwhite.

While I loved the Kindle Paperwhite and still have it, I barely touch it these days as I find I am happy enough reading on my iPhone and iPad. It's a lot easier for me to just whip out my phone when I'm commuting or waiting in line to read a bit here and there, than to have to bring an extra device around with me. And even at home, I find it's easier to just read on my phone or iPad than the Kindle...

I tend to use the kindle app in my iPad or phone but for reading outside I have the cheap kindle which is lovely and lightweight and has no reflection in the sun.
