Landrys identification request

This evening we ate at bubba gump. Handed over my Landry card which had $25 credit. The server requested photo identification. I explained I didn’t have any with me just lots of cards with my name on, credit cards etc...I showed him what I had and after some deliberation he agreed to ask the manger if what I had would suffice. The manager agreed and deducted the $25 from the bill. Not sure if this is a new thing, he said it was because people had been found to be using other people’s cards.

I ate there a month ago and no such request.

Was this to cash in a birthday credit?

So many people abuse the loyalty card that they are cracking down on everything. You see it over the last 2 years, everything is being tightened up gradually, all the loopholes getting closed.

From the updated T&C : If Rewards are being redeemed, member will also be required to show valid ID. Only the member to whom the membership card is issued may earn points or redeem Rewards.
