Tours and Drinks Price
We are just starting to look at maybe a cruise for a week.
At this stage, can't even decide where However, apart from NCL where drinks are included, what sort of price is a drinks package on other lines? Now..what about tours? what prices are we looking at for these and do you really need to do them all? Thanks

We're not big drinkers so alcohol packages aren't worth it for us. We usually buy a wine package - 7 bottles at a discount price, but still relatively expensive.🙁 Plus we have a pre-dinner drink at the bar which is usually covered by on board credit. If you search on Cruisecritic boards you'll find drink prices for your chosen cruise line and the cruise line websites have details of the drinks packages.
We rarely go on ship tours, we think they are over priced plus we don't like touring with large groups moving at the pace of the slowest - our preference is to go our own way, either by walking, public transport, taxi, hire car or small group in a mini-bus with a driver/guide. We organise or join others on these small groups through the roll calls section on Cruisecritic and have done this all over the world. Many people don't like doing this for fear of missing the ship - we plan carefully and always have a plan B to get back to the ship especially in remote areas. So far, in 35 cruises and hundreds of tours it's been ok.🤞 |
