2 weeks, June 2018. Help
Me and my bestfriend have booked a holiday to Florida, 17th June-1st July. We are stopping off site in a hotel not too far from Disney. And just wondering if anyone has any tips? We haven't paid for anything but the Holiday package with Thomas cook, which covers flights and hotel. When is the best time to book Disney/Univesal Tickets? Place to eat, not in the parks?! And we will be 21, so what's the best form of ID to use? Best place to convert from pounds to dollar? And what is the Uber service like? Haven't been since 2008 so I'm sure a lot has changed and just want some tips. Any other Information would be helpful.

Hi
You may want to post this on the general Florida planning forum but... We go after you and are staying off site and have villa, flights, Disney tickets (21 day), Discovery Cove day, insurance and ESTA all done. Just keep an eye out for the exchange rate, if you have a CC they tend to have good exchange rates. I booked Discovery Cove last week and got an exchange rate of 1.3 Tickets - take a look at a few sites and see if they are offering any freebies, I got ours from attraction tickets direct Not sure on the ID front, too old to be asked. But I have got copies of our passport info pages laminated just incase a passport goes missing. Not sure where you are staying so can't help with places to eat. But as I said check out this forum https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=48

Welcome to the Dibb!
I would recommend Orlando Attractions for your park tickets. There are loads of cheap places to eat on I Drive and Kissimmee, but it really depends where your hotel is ID - I think the line now is your UK Drivers License and a copy/photo of your UK Passport. They are very strict. What I'd probably recommend is take your passports out the first time you get alcohol and ask the bartender what they recommend you bring in terms of ID? In terms of conversion rates, I would recommend to get a Revolut card. We loved ours when we went for our honeymoon. It connects to an app on your phone so you can keep track of what you're spending and you get a great exchange rate. It's also very easy to top up, as you can link the app with your debit card and/or your bank account. You can use it anywhere with the Mastercard sign... which is basically everywhere. Uber is fantastic - again, download the app and link to your card. It's very easy to use and very cheap. About half the price of Mears Taxis. Be sure to check the driver rating though... we had a few hit and miss experiences with Uber. |

Welcome to the dibb. We go after you stay in off site on IDrive. It's our first time so all very new to us to. Have villa, flights, estas, deposit down on Disney/Uni tickets. Doing insurance/discovery tickets this coming week. Orlando Attraction tickets is where I go for our park tickets. As far as I can see International Drive has loads of restaurants for all tastes. There is a hop on, hop off bus that runs down IDrive that goes to the parks. Not used Uber and have heard good and bad reviews so would be personal choice. Definitely have your ID with you if buying any age restriction products in the form of photo ID. With currency conversion I would look around and find best deal for your money. Good luck with your planning

Guess you’re staying on I-Drive if booking a hotel with Thomas Cook? Restaurants, Chillies, Uno’s, Bahama Breeze, Millers all good. Denny’s for breakfast! If ordering cash Covent Garden fx - always good rates. We always book tickets before we go usually with attraction tickets direct. Not done Uber as hire car but with the price of parking at parks I’d guess a good option.
