Where to Stay Between Ft Lauderdale & West Palm Beach?

The final week of our holiday was supposed to end with a two night stay on Marathon Key and with that in mind, our return flight is from Fort Lauderdale.

It is highly likely that we will have to cancel our trip to the Keys so I am looking for recommendations of somewhere to spend our final two days, somewhere between West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Its not an area we have ever been to before so we are a bit clueless, but what we don't want is just to sit on a beach or round a pool all day, so having something nearby to do/see is important.

Can anybody help with some suggestions?

Hiya.

You can look into Boca Raton.
They have the Nature Center, butterfly garden and a sea turtle sanctuary as well.
You might want to do a little research though as some areas did get hit hard from Irma.

We had to do the same Debra, we were set to stay in Marathon but had to cancel.

We booked our 4 nights in Vero beach at this place

Their website looks dire but the actual place looks pretty cool.
There are a couple of other hotels there if you like big plush places
