My DD has just ordered her wedding cake from a local baker (very local actually as she is our next door neighbour!) She did a sample order of 6 different flavours and they have chosen: cookies & cream, lemon drizzle and toffee apple flavours. They will be having design consultation soon to see what they want it to look like. I think she is favouring buttercream (as she doesn't like fondant) and it will be 3 tiers.

We really weren’t too fussed by our wedding cake. It really wasn’t a show stopper for us!
We spent ages trying to find the right baker to make something, but ended up buying separate cake tiers from Marks & Spencer, and our florist brought some extra flowers and dressed our cake on the morning of the wedding. Easiest and most stress free way to do the cake, if you’re like me and not too bothered about it!

For our wedding I made a tower of krispy kreme ring doughtnuts with a traditional wedding topper on the top. We then had trays of the filled doughnuts on the table next to it. By the end of the night every doughnut had been eaten. Each anniversary we celebrate by having some more ‘cake’
