I go on Thursday (eek!). I’ve decided to just do Edinburgh and Glasgow this trip, and,if all goes well, I’m hoping to book an escorted tour to do the Highlands in September. Im pretty much packed (I am usually very last minute), and am crossing fingers and toes that I’ll feel better as I still have some lingering Covid symptoms. But I am excited, anxious, enthusiastic, nervous and wheezy all in equal measure!

Yup! My partner is a duty manager at a large theatre and if he’s working when a show I’d like to watch is on, I go by myself. It’s more common than you think, but if you’re really uncomfortable by yourself, you could see if there’s a “friends of a theatre” group in your area. Our group go to the theatre restaurant for lunch then go and see the show together.

Enjoy! I’ve started going to the theatre once a month, buying an ‘on the day’ ticket. I’ve been on my own 3 times out of 4 this year and really enjoyed it.

I go alone all the time, and I love it!
I’m actually at the Empire in Liverpool twice next week to watch Waitress alone. Sometimes I travel in purely for the show, other days I’ll go in earlier and have lunch etc. I love it. My Mum will come to the odd show with me, and my friend in work also loves theatre and has said she would like to come, but I don’t let having no one to go with stop me from seeing a show. Always happy to chat about theatre on here too Hope you have the best time

I would definitely go on my own. I saw Celine Dion on my own in Vegas, as I refused to pay for a seat for my husband just so he could sit and moan throughout

Absolutely! I’ve managed to get some bargains as well by booking single seats between groups that (appear to) have been reduced as they wouldn’t otherwise sell! Currently got my eye on a £13 seat for singing in the rain next Saturday, if it’s still there in the morning it’s mine!

I don't live far from London and have been to the theatre there on my own loads of times. The last time was Mary Poppins 2 weeks ago, the matinee perfotmance. Last year I did 2 overnight stays and went to the theatre in the evening - the first was Lion King and the second was Phantom of the Opera.
