No pressure but I love reading trip reports and photos of general trips. We didn’t travel very much when we were younger, only started when we were around 40, so we’ve picked up a lot of ideas from here.

In fact we’ve booked our Athens trip this year (originally booked for 2020) after reading a trip report on here and thinking how lovely it sounded

I’d be interested in reading your trip report/summary. DH has always wanted to visit The Holy Land; it’s definitely on the list!

We organised the trip through a company and we had a guide and coach driver who stayed with us for the whole trip. Because they were “locals” we felt very safe. I don’t think areas like this are ever fully “safe” but if you have your wits about you and avoid known trouble spots/times then it’s somewhere I wouldn’t hesitate to go yet again. It’s a place where tension is always simmering but it didn’t affect our visit to anywhere we’d planned to go except Temple Mount (and that was because it was Eid celebrations rather than because there was trouble).
I loved reading your trip report. Which company did you use? We normally use Tagney Tours. Your trip sounds really exciting and would love to visit Holy Land

I was catching up on some YouTube vlogs yesterday and there were loads of advertisements for holidays to Israel for some reason.

It is somewhere I have always wanted to go, but in recent years it has seemed to troubled an area for me to seriously consider it. So I would be very interested to read more.

The ads are likely appearing because Israel has just announced the removal of all remaining Covid-related entry rules (testing, proof of vaccination etc) for international arrivals, with effect from 21 May.

I’ve seen the ads too! I think it’ll always be a troubled area so our plan was that unless there was FCO advice not to travel then we would go. There was trouble just before our 2015 trip as well. But for tourists I think that as long as you’re careful you won’t encounter anything out of the ordinary. A local guide would be a must for me. And an organised tour brings even less risk.

My report is finished You’ll find it here - https://dibb.in/15450570
