New York over Thanksgiving
I have finally got round to booking our first trip to NYC with the kids. DH & I have been before, but the kids were raging we went without them, and we have had it booked in Nov 202, then 2021, so fingers crossed it's 3rd time lucky!
We fly on Weds 23rd Nov, Thanksgivng day is 24th Nov. We will be there for 4 nights, flying home on Sunday 27th. For anyone who has been over this time of year, did you have to book a restaurant for Thanksgiving? We wont arrive till 7pm ish on the 23rd, but want to get up on the Thursday for the Macys Parade so thinking we should book an early dinner somewhere? Do the attractions close? We are staying down in the Financial District so happy to walk/use the subway etc to get to places. We will visit Times Sq to show the kids, but I am not a lover of the business of it, so happy to eat elsewhere. Would like to book the Rockettes, and will get the New York City Passes for us like we did last time! Anyone with any tips for visiting over TG would be appriciated!

NYC can get busy over Thanksgiving. I would make a reservation at a restaurant instead of chancing it.

We flew on Thanksgiving last year, arriving on the Friday.
It was really busy. We didn’t notice how busy until the Monday when everyone went back to work/ school etc. I would definitely book whatever you really want to do if it’s over Thanksgiving. We wanted to go to the 9/11 Memorial Museum and by mid morning all tickets had gone luckily, we were able to do it in the following week. We didn’t do any shows but the restaurants were super busy. We always managed to get a table tho. Juniors just off Times Square was our favourite this time. Have fun planning I |
