Do you lose out if your birthday is December?
Anyone else hate having a December birthday?
So sick of people asking me what I want for my birthday as it falls near Christmas and they don’t know what to get. Because I don’t know I then get nothing for either or something supposedly big for both. I’d never dream of asking someone what they want for their birthday whenever it falls. Edited at 10:30 PM. |

I feel really sorry for people who have their birthday near Christmas. At least if your birthday is in June, you have something to look forward to midway through the year.
I know people who have had a child on Christmas Eve and they celebrate the child’s birthday on their christening day instead (mid year) rather than at Christmas. My son was born late November and even that I think is too close. Can’t think of anything Christmas related until he’s had his birthday. |

When I was little, it was….This is your birthday and Christmas present! Also, cards are limited, as all Christmas cards are out in the shops…especially if you are celebrating a big birthday. 🎂

Yes I hate it. When I turned 50 a few years ago, I celebrated it 6 months early and did a full blown party in June! So much better and good weather too!

The cards that say for your December birthday really rile me, do you ever see a card that says for your February birthday no you don't.

I think December birthdays should automatically have a June date as well to celebrate, me included! I always blamed my parents 🤣

I’d rather have mine in December close to Christmas than January on the other side of Christmas, Mine is just after when the celebrations have finished and nobody is in the mood (or has the money) to celebrate.

I have a late year birthday and it was always eclipsed by Christmas. My daughter has a birthday very close Christmas so we have always tried to make sure there is some space between Christmas and her birthday but it is hard especially as she gets older. However, she could have been born on Christmas Day which I was vehemently against so I am grateful x

Mine is 16th which is just far enough away. I have friends with birthdays on 27th and 28th and they tend to have a party in February when everyone has got through January!
