Food on Tui flight

Hi, we are flying out to MCO with Tui later this month. Our 7yr is a picky eater & im worried he won't want whats in the meal provided. Are you allowed to take food onto the flight in your hand luggage? We havent been on holiday for such a long time, sorry if this is an obvious answer

Yes you can take food onto the plane in your hand luggage as long it’s not in liquid form.
This is the best site to check
gov.uk/hand-luggage-restrictions

Yes.

We flew tui yesterday Manchester to Melbourne.

We took our own sandwiches made at home and fruit cut up in Tupperware.

Disposed of anything left before we left the plane.

The in flight food is... mediocre for the hot meal and appalling for the afternoon tea.

It was chicken pasta which was t bad, dry crackers (no butter?) and cheese with a very nice small desert.

Then a small tool with cream cheese spread wafer thin on the bottom with three drab bits of cucumber on. The top of the roll was dry. With a bit of millionaires shortbread.

Drinks were done throughout the flight but we took water on with us as well.

You can take your own food. We flew Tui Premium last week and the kid’s meal was tomato pasta, some chocolate buttons and a fruit winder. I think it would be the same for kids in economy and premium. My two year old demolished it and I tasted it and it was pretty good as tomato pasta goes.

Just seen an item in a news paper which said TUI is going to cutting back on meals on planes and if passengers want to eat anything then they should take their own food. Not sure if this also involves long haul flights or if they are just doing it on short hauls.

It’s for short and medium haul. A few of the articles specifically mention mlb as still being catered.

I like to get a boots or marks' meal deal at the airport. Always tasty! It's a bit of a ritual for me!- then I have 2 drinks in the pub before boarding! Are you even at the airport if you don't have a drink?
