Just looked to try and see if I could reserve and apparently the restaurant is closed at the moment with no time estimated for reopening

I am sorry to hear that. The views are spectacular.

We flew to Washington for a few days then drove down the coast, visiting kill devil hills and the Wright memorial. Visited Richmond and Ocracoke island via ferry and then back to Washington. A bit of a weird route due to avoiding a hurricane so we would like to go back in better weather.

Hi,

As you'll know there is so much to do and depends a lot on your interests, but for reference a few of our highlights were:
- Georgetown - a totally different vibe to the rest of DC. Also has the 'Exorcist stairs' if interested.
- A boat trip on the Potomac (from Georgetown) - good alternative views of the city from the river and round to the back of the pentagon
- Capitol Building tour (and across to Library of Congress). We did try and get a White house visit but weren't successful.
- Too many museums to mention but a standout for us was the museum of American history with things such as the original stars and stripes flag, and the top hat Lincoln was wearing when assassinated
- Outside of DC but near the airport the outpost of the air and space museum is great

Historic Williamsburg is well worth a visit. And I’m sure you know about Busch Gardens.
