Anyone stayed at at Riu in Mexico?

Looking at booking for October half term, 2 adults and 2 teens 16 and 17. After going back and forth on trip advisor etc, I’ve narrowed it down to the Riu Dunamar in Costa mujeres or the Riu playacar. With the Riu playacar I can also use the facilities at the Yukatan and tequila. Has anyone been to any of them please?

We have been to the riu palace in playacar.
Playacar has THE best beaches and would choose there out of your options.

Stayed at Riu Yucatan 4 times and visited the Riu Tequila to watch the football. Love Playacar as a resort and a short walk into Playa Del Carmen. Never visited Riu Playacar so cant comment but all Riu's are usually good

We are staying at the Riu Yucatan in July, for the first time. Any hints or tips or places to go that too can recommend?

I’ve stayed at the Yucatan. We had a nosey around the Playacar too which looked lovely. We ate in their lunch buffet restaurant which was just like the Yucatan one.

You can go over to the Tequila for the ‘party’ nights if they’re on (the white party was good) but not sure if they’ve restarted since covid.

If you go out of the front of the hotels (Yucatan and Playacar) and turn right, walk down past the other hotels, you’ll come to the exit of the controlled hotel area and will enter Playa del Carmen where you’ll find shops, restaurants etc. You can also get a taxi.

I’d recommend getting the ferry to Cozumel for the day, lovely place to visit and we did a fab snorkelling tour there.
