Recommendations for hotel in Washington and Boston
We're doing a bit of late holiday planning - I'm really not used to this as I usually start booking our Florida hols 18 months to 2 years ahead
So, we want to do about 3 nights in Washington and 4 nights in Boston. Any hotel recommendations? Deb

We loved The Kendall Hotel on our Boston stay, it is over the river in Cambridge but right next to a subway station. 5 minute subway to downtown Boston, or a 20 minute walk over the bridge. It is a converted fire station with a newer block added on, with an Americana theme, lots of antiques and quilts, but not stuffy. Great buffet breakfast included.

We have stayed at 2 Hilton’s in Washington - the Capitol and the Madison. Both close to the White House, metro and other attractions 😀

We really enjoyed staying in the Colonnade. We had a good room, a nice view and we were opposite the Cheesecake Factory.
The reception staff weren’t friendly but that’s just a small part of the stay. Also the rooftop pool was quite posey with young, beautiful and slim people. It was a bit like one of those TOWIE trips. Edit BTW this is Boston.

We stayed at Boston Park Plaza which was lovely. It was a short walk from the park and pretty central for the main sights. We got a good deal on booking.com.

We stayed at the Intercontinental in Boston which was lovely and on the waterfront.
In Washington we stayed at The Willard (also an Intercontinental) which was amazing - historic and very luxurious. It's also basically next-door to the White House and you can walk to everywhere from it.

I like staying in or round back bay. Used to get great deals on Boston Park Plaza! Boston hotels can be pricey

We stayed at the Hotel Commonwealth in Boston, it is a bit further out of the main area but is opposite Fenway Park and has a train station under the hotel so everything is easily accessible. We loved it there and used booking.com

Thanks. Still at the looking & planning stage, but have tried a couple of online travel agents for some quotes - which is a change for me as I am usually the Chief Planner and DIYer for anything holidays.
Getting quotes from Away2, and Travel Nation. Anyone used either of these companies? Deb

We liked the Sheraton at Boston Back Bay. Lovely hotel, really close to everything with friendly staff. Because we were there for my DH's 50th, they upgraded us to a suite overlooking the city. It was quite something! We booked through Booking.com.
