Florida Keys

Hi we are thinking of many a few days in the keys. Has anyone any ideas on where to stay? We would like to split the journey to Key west with another stop on the way. Can anyone rec a nice place and or accommodation or what your itinerary was. Thankyou

We stayed at Islamorada which was a good central location to explore the upper keys and it was also an easy drive down to Key West. We stayed in a town house as we were travelling with our then 14 year old son so this gave us more space.

Islamorada's a good recommendation, we've stayed there twice and staying again in September. If you want something more commercial try Guy Harvey Islander which opens after its Irma remodelling this fall or if you want a reasonably priced "old style Florida" motel type accommodation and don't need fancy try Ragged Edge Resort which have fab 2 bedroom units overlooking the sea or Breezy Palms. There are also many upmarket places on the Key such as Checca Lodge, The Moorings etc but if you want to experience real keys life try one of the first 3. Sunrise at The Islander resort is just amazing.

Check out Playa Largo Resort and Spa, Key Largo. It is a lovely first stop.
