Masterchef mystery box challenge

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

I am a massive fan of masterchef Australia and love the mystery box challenge.

Over the next two weekends myself and my partner are doing our taKe on this. So this Saturday I am buying the mystery box (bag) of ingredients and the following one he will. Although I am at a disadvantage as he is a trained chef. Although he doesn’t work as a chef now. I love cooking so hopefully will go ok. We have set ourselves a £20 limit and will have a ‘staples’ pantry of flour, butter etc.

Have any of you done this before?

We have never done a mystery box challenge. But we used to have a cooking challenge where we blindly chose one from a type of cuisine e.g. Italian, Chinese, Mexican etc and then one “hero” at random e.g. chicken, beef, vegetarian etc. We had about fifteen options for each list. We have done that many a time, not a competition just a bit of cooking fun.

This sounds fun as well. Unfortunate set back this weekend, no car so will now be next weekend. Can’t wait, I have been thinking of what ingredients to put in.
