We love everything around there and often stayed at the Marquess of Lorne amongst other places. The kids (who are now nearly 30!) didn’t like the beach there because of the pebbles but we loved it. Nice place. Lucky you. The parking tip is a good one - not just for Lyme Regis! Didn’t really think about that!
Fabulous, you probably know the Bridport area better than me! 😂

My family are in the Burton Bradstock area, just outside.

Absolutely love West Bay, my mum has a caravan near there. Best fish and chips ever!

Lyme has always been lovely but my goodness it got even more popular after Broadchurch.

If visiting Burton Bradstock don't miss the Hive cafe on the beach

Lol). I can’t be doing with cliffs and steep steps plus we would most likely have a buggy. Hoping to find a little gem somewhere with a nice sandy beach and an ice cream shop! We have been to Exmouth when our DD was in a buggy and that was nice but she’s the one with the baby now so as you can see, it’s been a while!
Try Goodrington in Paignton a large park area and a sandy safe beach.

We have to have two days in the area, one for the Hive and one for Rachels in West Bay by the harbour!

All this is making me want to fit in a little trip to Dorset of our own now! We were remembering our stay in West Bexington before the kids came along. It was our first and only sighting of fireflies! Amazing.

I live in South Devon, about 15 minutes from Salcombe. It is absolutely heaving here. Parking in Salcombe is never easy, but now dont even try. Its got a park, but no ride.
Any beach places such as north/south sands in Salcombe, Bigbury/Burgh island, get there by 9.00am or you just can't park🙁

Popped into Dartmouth on Monday, absolutely rammed.

Plus its harvest time so lots of tractors about in our lovely narrow lanes. Have to remind some people they have a reverse gear 😉🙂

Not meaning to put you off, but its incredibly busy.

Thank you- this is the sort of stuff I really need to know. We would avoid August but our DS is a secondary school teacher so we can’t avoid it.
