We are also doing this. Because H2B's mum died a couple of years ago, we both felt that it would be too sad to have a "proper" wedding here without her there, and we want it to be a happy occasion. So we decided to go to Orlando for 3 weeks and get married whilst we're there. Was just suppose to be the 2 of us but now H2B's sister and her boyfriend are coming with us for 2 weeks.

We are going to have a party when we get home and plan to wear our wedding attire again. A family member is into photography and he is going to take mock wedding photos for us at the party, I have bought my niece (who's almost 2) a beautiful bridesmaid's dress to wear to the party, my mum is going to make a cake for us and help me with making the food for the buffet, we'll buy some drink, get a DJ, we're having a candy buffet instead of favours. Everyone can come a celebrate with us, have a good time and we don't have any of the stress that you would get with a wedding at home plus it's costing us a fraction of what it would! I really can't wait!

BTW, Carrie of Destination Occasions is organising our wedding for us. She is fantastic!

Good luck with your planning
xx
