Mortgage Application - Job Offer Letter

I am currently a student nurse (qualify in 6 weeks! )
I have a job lined up due to start in September when I receive my pin, and I have a job offer letter confirming start date September & salary.
My other half is in full time employment so no worries there.

We are looking at houses at the moment and have done some research into mortgages. As far as I’m aware, Nationwide are the only bank that will accept a job offer letter if you are due to start that job within the next 3 months.

Does anybody know of any other banks/building societies that would accept a job offer letter?

Thanks,
Katie x

I would speak to a Financial Services Adviser who specialises in Mortgages personally as they will have the most up to date advice for you and help you find the right mortgage provider for your circumstances. I know it has an indirect (sometimes direct cost) but can more than pay for itself in combining all of your circumstances to get the right product at the right rate.

I would certainly advise going to a Mortgage Advisor/Broker - they will be able to give you the best independent advice surrounding this and usually have good contacts within the banks to get definitive answers.

I would also go down the route of using a broker.
My (now) husband and I bought our first home a couple of years ago and we had a few complexities with our situation:
1) My husband had just moved back to the UK after living for 7 years in Paris (had been back in the UK for less than 3 months but was continuing to work for the same company). Despite the fact that he is British, many places weren't happy with that
2) My husband isn't just a traditional PAYE employee
I got fed up of speaking to various banks myself, went to a broker and he got the whole thing sorted within about the space of a week

I bought my first house just after finishing uni & before starting a graduate scheme.

I ended up getting my mortgage from Halifax (via a broker), who were happy to accept a letter from my soon to be employer confirming salaries etc. The broker was great for going throgh the options & finding the best way forward for me.

I’m another who would suggest a broker. We were looking to move last year and I had a temporary contract. Don’t know if it was the level of equity we have or my husband’s salary but lenders seemed fine with the temporary job.
