We decided the day before our last few days where we went last August and could get any FP we wanted bar the Avatar rides, 7DMT and Frozen
However we had already done those so it wasn’t an issue. For me the planning is about making sure I spent as little time in queues as possible. I genuinely can’t see how someone could argue that more queues = better holiday

Now that we live here we never plan ahead. There are fastpasses available the day before. I agree they are rarely for the most popular rides but since you have warned them I would just leave them to it.
We had friends visit last summer who didn't plan ahead and didn't do loads of things many on here think are essential. They still had a great time and are planning on coming back. The wife probably wouldn't want to return if they had done a full on, try and see everything trip. It would have put her off for life!

Reading these posts about the need to plan everything so carefully weeks in advance just saddens me. I appreciate that some people enjoy doing all the planning but I long for the simple days of wandering round a park and taking in what rides we felt like doing on a day that suited us.
I hope your friend and her family enjoy their holiday in their own way. |

I'm not a major planner but I think these days with no quiet times really in the parks, it's a no brainer not to book some fastpasses when they're free for everyone to use,if not then you really need to be prepared to spend a lot of time standing in line no matter what time of year you go.
